This concept has many peculiarities. It is very long, having over five meters in length, rides on wheels of 22 inches, and was developed mostly for the Chinese market. Given how big this car is with its wheelbase of 3001 mm and width of 1930 mm, we can easily assume that it will serve as the basis for the next generation of the Phaeton model, which is expected to be out in 2018.
As for the interior of this concept, it is quite similar to the latest Passat model. At the same time, its design is less cluttered and more functional due to the usage of digital instrument cluster and touchscreen display of large size. There is also a center console at the back for rear passengers that allow these passengers to enjoy their own entertainment system with two displays that are mounted into the back of front seats.
When it comes to the specs, the concept has a TSI turbocharged gasoline engine with four cylinders and an automatic gear. Besides, the concept is also equipped with a fully electric motor. While the gasoline engine has the power of 210 PS, the electric motor boasts with 124 PS. It results in the concept having the combined output of 245 PS and 500 Nm of torque.
Another important feature is the auto’s lithium-ion battery that delivers the electric range up to 50 km. Thus, the concept could be able to drive over 800 km in hybrid mode. The concept car makes it to 100 km per hour for 8.6 seconds, while its top speed is 232 km per hour in conventional mode and 130 km per hour in its electric mode.
