2009 Pagani Zonda R: 750 hp, 0 to 62 mph in 2.7 seconds

This is the car that you are most likely never going to see in person. Production is limited to just 16 units out of which 15 will be sold to selected customers. Pagani will keep one model for their own little collection.

Zonda R made its public debut back in January in Vienna. Now Pagani has released more images and also some new details.

Even though it looks quite similar to previous Zonda models it actually has 90 % new components. It is also longer, wider and lower than Zonda F.

The central monocoque is made of a Carbon-Titanium composite, increasing rigidity while reducing significantly the weight. Bolted directly to the chassis is the AMG sourced 6.0-liter race derived V12 engine, with 750 hp and 710 Nm of torque. Power is sent to rear wheels via new paddle shift gearbox that changes gearshifts in 20ms.

A 12-way Bosch Motorsport traction control and ABS system allows the driver to fully adjust the settings while driving the Zonda R.

Thanks to all the lightweight parts, chassis and carbon fiber body the dry weight of the Pagani R is just 1,070 kg ( 2,360 lbs). All this power and low weight makes Zonda R a very fast supercar! 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) comes in just 2.7 seconds. Brembo ceramic brakes ensure the car comes to a full stop even faster. Top speed is 350 km/h (217 mph).
