20 Best-Selling SUVs: USA, February 2015

Last year Ford’s Escape held first place on the list of best-selling SUVs and crossovers. But as in February 2015 there was a 10% decrease in the number of sold cars, Ford slid to fifth spot.

The winner was The Honda CR-V. It’s safe to say that it led the SUV/crossover segment. Having outsold Toyota RAV4 by 355 cars Honda grabbed the number one spot (22,298 sales).

Chevrolet Equinox with its 21,723 sales was put at number 3 in the national ranking (+0.6% as compared with February 2014). Then comes Nissan Rogue that leaped to fourth place due to its 24.6% growth.

Utility vehicles produced by the Ford Motor Company lost 4%, Flex fell 33%. As for Edge, its sales plunged 40%, but that is hardly a surprise taking into consideration that the car is to be replaced soon.

We should also point out that not a single premium automaker cracked our list of best-selling SUVs/crossovers. However there are four vehicles from Jeep there: Cherokee showed the best results (14,026 cars sold, which is 18.9% more than in February 2014). Very close to it come Grand Cherokee (12,911 sales, +8.4%) and Wrangler (13,756, +21.3%). Jeep Patriot takes 14th place (10,280 cars sold). That is a great result, as it means that there is a 59.0% growth as compared with February 2014.
