Cadillac’s Hybrid Escalade recently came to Los Angeles and John Howell, Cadillac’s Director of Global Products, gave an in-person introduction to the vehicle. Available in 2WD and 4WD configurations, the Escalade delivers 6,000 and 5,700 pounds of towing capacity, respectively.
Plus the Escalade’s 2 Mode hybrid system, Active Fuel Management system and electrically variable transmission enables the luxury SUV to attain 20 mpg city/21 mpg highway.
AWD Escalade currently gets 12 mpg city / 18 mpg highway. As you can see there is a huge improvement if you drive a lot in the city. But to be honest these numbers are still very bad if you look at todays gas prices and the fact that the hybrid version will cost over 10,000 USD more than the non hybrid model.
