Inside Line has the information that Toyota-Subaru Rear-Wheel-Drive Coupe is in the works and the Subaru version will be sold worldwide whereas the Toyota version will be sold exclusively only in Japan.
The car will be based on the Subaru Impreza powertrain that will be modified to a rear-wheel drive. New coupe will be powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0 liter boxer engine that produces 220 hp at 6500 rpm.
Even though the powertrain is identical, both Toyota and Subaru will be creating exterior designs to differentiate the cars form each other.
New coupe will weigh 2,866 pounds and use a 2+2 seating configuration.
Most likely the car will be introduced in 2010 as a 2011 model with prices starting little under $20,000.
