Say no to windscreen and roof. This here is the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Speedster.
To keep the weight down a plastic body will be used. It will not have power windows or air conditioning.
Speedster version is 200kg lighter than the SLR 722 Edition.
The 5.5-liter supercharged V-8 is believed to be left untouched, but will be mated to an all-new exhaust system that will allow the motor to churn out more that the stock 617 horsepower.
SLR McLaren Speedster will hit 186 mph in 26 seconds. Top speed is 217.5 mph (8 mph more than the SLR 722 Edition). Imagine doing 217.5 mph with no windshield?
Only 75 examples will be built with a price tag of around $700,000. Surely the car will be a huge collector item and it will never be driven around at high speeds, so the top speed of 217.5 mph and th lack of windshield does not really matter.
Most likely it will be stored in some private collectors huge garage so most of us never make it to see it.
