Porsche and Volkswagen are very closely related. Cayenne shares a lot with Touareg and Audi’s Q7.
Now rumor is that Porsche is working on a Porsche badged Volkswagen Golf for 2012.
This would not be the first time when Porsche has a smaller car that shares parts/design with VW. Porsche 924 engine was basically VW. If Porsche introduces another smaller model then it would be competing with Audi A3, BMW 1-series and smaller Mercedes-Benz models.
Engines are rumored to feature up to 295 bhp.
Does it make sense? No if you are a hard core Porsche fan. But financially Porsche will probably make a lot of money with that model.
