Toyota is testing the third generation Prius. Photos we managed to get are not in best quality as the car was too far and there was no way to get closer.
What we can already tell that Toyota stais true to the current shape. Rumor is though that the car is little wider and shorter than the current Prius.

Subaru will exhibit its Forester and Impreza models equipped with Subaru Boxer Diesel at the Paris Motor Show. The Forester 2.0D and Impreza 2.0D models will be on sale in Europe after this autumn.
In addition to the Legacy and Outback models, already available with the Boxer Diesel, Subaru has strengthened its diesel model lineup to meet a wider array of customers’ needs in the European market. FHI will also display the R1e and G4e Concept, prototype electric vehicles, to provide a glimpse into FHI’s environmental technologies.

Most likely a professional stuntman wearing a speedsuit and an aerodynamics helmet with some sort of a special skateboard(I don’t think my skateboard would ever manage speeds over 15 mph) used a bike to get his speed up before entering the A8 motorway.
Once the speed was up he was doing around 60 mph while other drivers were passing him. Pretty grazy.

Electric cars are the next big thing. At least every automaker thinks so and now Chrysler joins the scene with three electric car prototypes that will be showed to dealers end of this month.
Chrysler is developing hybrid electric plug-in vehicles with a range of around 300 miles. According to Jim Press, co president of Chrysler “Fuel cells are in the future, but probably more in my kids’ future than my own.” meaning today effort goes to electric cars rather than to fuel cells.

Today, the one millionth Smart ForTwo rolled off the production line at the plant in Hambach, France - a micro hybrid drive (mhd) in the passion equipment line. On the occasion of the production anniversary and the tenth birthday of the smart brand Daimler presented the new smart electric drive.
In Hambach Dr. Dieter Zetsche, President and CEO of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars said “The smart electric drive makes zero emission driving in an urban environment a reality.”

Last time we heard from Project Kahn was when they introduced the Bentley Continental GTS “Black Edition”. Now Project Kahn is working on a special Lotus Elise to celebrate the British automaker’s 60th Anniversary.
The car will be unveiled officially in September. Elise gets a new aerodynamics styling package. Interior gets Kahn’s treatment with full leather seats and door trims. Performance changes include a new Kahn sports exhaust and the suspension will be lowered to improve handling.

Versace and Lamborghini, collaborators since 2006, proudly announce the launch of the new Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640 Roadster VERSACE and a unique collection of accessories.
To create the new super roadster, the Maison Versace’s designers joined forces with designers from the Lamborghini Design Centre (Centro Stile)and specialists working on the “ad personam” project. This Lamborghini program allows individual clients to create personalised sports cars, choosing the equipment specification, the colour of the exterior body and of the interior fittings.

Mazda Motor Corporation today announced the launch of its new global brand visual identity which will be rolled out progressively around the world. Following a successful pilot in Australia, the first major region to introduce this new visual identity direction will be Japan, commencing on June 20, 2008, when Mazda updates its Japan websites with distinctive new features.
This will be followed by its full adoption in advertising, commencing on July 8 with the launch of the new mid-size Mazda Biante high-roof minivan in Japan.

Legislation setting a minimum sound level for vehicles sold in the United States by as early as 2010 is expected to be introduced on Wednesday in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The bill would require the U.S. Secretary of Transportation to lead a study to determine if a minimum sound level is needed to protect pedestrians, specifically the blind. And if such a level is necessary, the bill would set it.

TV car show Top Gear is to be turned into a live event for a world tour that will visit 15 countries.
The BBC Two show’s presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are expected to sign up for the British leg of the Top Gear Live tour.
BBC Worldwide said the live shows would “incorporate the drama of film and theatre with the thrills and spills of stunts and special effects”.

Abu Dhabi: At least three people were killed and nearly 350 injured in a horrific 60 vehicle pile-up on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway near Ghantoot on Tuesday.
The 25km stretch of the UAE’s busiest highway from Abu Dhabi to Dubai was closed for more than five hours, resulting in huge tailbacks during rush hours.
Police said among the 347 injured, six people were critical, while 39 suffered medium injuries. The remaining suffered minor injuries.

The current fine for using a mobile phone while driving in the UK is £60 and three points on your license. If you are caught driving unsafely while using a mobile phone or typing directions in the navi, the fine jumps to £2,500.

Though still a concept, next year’s production version is expected to be almost identical although we suspect the interior will be toned down to match the cabin of the sedan. The gullwing DeLorean made famous by the ‘Back to the Future’ movies is set to re-enter production next year after a 25 year break. The cars will be hand-built in Humble, Texas, by the renewed DeLorean Motor Co. at a price of $57,500 a piece. Assembly will be slow, with only two cars per month expected to roll-off the production line, and the new models won’t be identical to the original. The cars will look similar but will get a refreshed interior and more powerful engines.
