Irv Gordon — who as the first person to drive two million miles in the same car and has taken more road trips than anybody — has some advice for families preparing a summer vacation on the road: ditch the fancy resorts and theme parks and take a drive to a small town.
Gordon, a retired science teacher from Long Island, New York, clocked his historic two millionth mile in his shiny red 1966 Volvo P1800 in 2002 while driving down Times Square in New York City. He is only 300,000 miles from reaching the 3 million mile mark. With higher gas prices than last year, Americans drove 9.6 billion fewer miles in May than in May 2007, a 3.7% decline that is the largest drop in miles traveled for any May, the federal government reported Monday.
Traffic normally increases in May, which ends with the Memorial Day holiday weekend that marks the traditional start of the summer driving season. The decline was the third-largest monthly drop in the 66 years that the Federal Highway Administration has tracked miles driven.

Daytona Beach is one of the few beaches in the world where you can drive your car. Today nearly 100 cars sank and became stuck in the sand. Local police sais that the sand is like powder because it has not seen no rain in months.
Also the police had to close some parts of the beach. Usually beach police is busy making rescues in the water now they are rescuing car owners who are stuck in sand. Some vehicles even got wet as they were too close to the water when the high tide came.

Monaco is a tiny sovereign state located in Western Europe. Monaco is a Constitutional Monarchy and Principality with Prince Albert II as head of state. The Grimaldi family has ruled over Monaco since 1292 and the state’s sovereignty was officially recognised by the Franco-Monegasque Treaty of 1861.
It is often regarded as a tax haven, and many of its inhabitants are wealthy. And those wealthy people do have usually some of the nicest and most exotic cars in the world.
