According to Automotive News, Bugatti is working on a Rolls-Royce competitor to replace the Veyron production that ends in 2012. Before the Veyron production ends Bugatti will introduce the ultimate Veyron that has 1350 hp. CEO Franz-Josef Paefgen says that Bugatti may work together with sister brand Bentley to build the four-door car.

Bugatti, in cooperation with its sister brand Bentley, may be teaming up to create a luxury sedan directed right against Bentley.

Citroën C-Cactus might make it into production

At the Frankfurt Motor Show last year Citroen introduced an electric car concept called C-Cactus. Citroen is now considering launching either small gasoline engine version or diesel-electric hybrid based directly on the concept car. Also all electric version is a possibility.

Considered powerplants include a 1.0-liter gasoline engine, a HYmotion2 hybrid featuring a combustion engine and an electric motor or a 100% electric model with a range of 160 km (100 miles).

Small electric city car by Audi confirmed

Reuters reported in May that Audi is planning to offer electric cars in 5-10 years. With the whole electric car race Audi has now confirmed that the all electric city car will be based on the VW Up! concept.

First it was thought that Audi’s electric car would be based on the A1 Concept.

Peter Schwarzenbauer, who sits on the management board at Ingolstadt confirmed the Up! based electric car at last week’s Paris motor show.

Beetle based pickup for U.S. market?

Last month Volkswagen introduced its Pickup Concept at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Hanover, Germany. Rumored to be called “Robust” or “Taro” this pickup won’t be sold in the states. VW will only sell the new truck in South America, South Africa, Australia and Europe.

According to Automotive News this doesn’t mean that Americans won’t be seeing the VW pickup. Rumor is that Volkswagen considers selling a new pickup in the U.S. that’s based on its upcoming second-generation New Beetle.

Paris 2008: Lada Revolution 3

We can’t remember when Russian auto industry introduced a concept that made it into production. Last time they announced a new model, it was an rebadged Sebring that they are calling Volga Siber.

Now in Paris they have a concept called Lada Revolution 3. It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged Renault engine that makes 245 hp. 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) takes 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 250 km/h. Length of the car is 4.2 meters, width 1.8 meters and height 1.15 meters. The car has heavily tinted windows so we can’t see the interior. Probably because there is nothing to see.

Paris 2008: Peugeot HYmotion3 compressor concept

According to Peugeot HYmotion3 compressor is something between a scooter and the car. Hymotion hybrid/petrol technology creates a three wheel drive vehicle, benefiting safety and driveability and combining economy with an environmentally-friendly specification (CO2 emissions of only 47 g/km in the combined cycle, zero in electric only mode).

Its design is based on three wheels for maximum stability, safety and driveability. Its width of 82 cm enables it to thread a path through urban traffic with all the efficiency of a two-wheeler. The front windscreen extends to the rear of the vehicle to form a highly effective shield against bad weather for the rider and passenger.

Live from Paris: Lamborghini Estoque image gallery

In addition to the first official images and details we have now live images from Paris showing the Estoque from all sides including the interior.

Estoque concept is 5.15 meters (16.89 feet) long and 1.99 meters (6.53 feet) wide, with a height of only 1.35 metres (4.43 feet). The wheelbase is 3.01 meters (9.88 feet).

Like all contemporary Lamborghini models, the Estoque is also equipped with permanent all-wheel drive.

Paris 2008: The Audi A4 TDI concept e

Audi is introducing a trend-setting technology concept at the Paris Auto Show: the A4 TDI concept e offers the typically agile experience of driving an Audi, yet it uses just 3.99 liters of fuel per 100 km (58.95 US mpg), which corresponds to a CO2 output of only 105 grams per km (168.98 g/mile).

The powertrain of the Audi A4 TDI concept e uses a direct-injection TDI engine with an output of 88 kW (120 hp) and 290 Nm (213.89 lb-ft) of torque. It propels the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 10.7 seconds, and tops out at 206 km/h (128 mph).

Paris 2008: SsangYong unveils the C200 concept

We have seen the facelifted SsangYong Actyon and the upcoming Y 300 and all we can say is that they are still ugly. But with the C200 concept SSsangYong really surprises us.

Lets hope that future SsangYong vehicles follow the design from C200 as the current ones are extremely ugly.

It’s powered by a new 2,0L diesel engine with maximum output of 175 horsepower.

Volvo ReCharge Concept

The Volvo ReCharge Concept on display at the Paris Motor Show is a specially designed Volvo C30, that features individual electric wheel motors and batteries that can be charged via a regular electrical outlet.

When fully charged the Volvo ReCharge Concept can be driven approximately 62 miles on battery power alone before the car’s four-cylinder combustion engine is needed to power the car and recharge the battery.

An original take on a road car, GTbyCITROËN is a style replica of a vehicle from the digital world.
The car is the result of a partnership between Citroën and Polyphony, designer of the driving simulation game Gran Turismo 5 on Playstation 3.

In the game, GTbyCITROËN features an electric drive train powered by a fuel cell with no pollutant emissions. It is a car designed to square up to the strongest competition.

Honda Insight Concept Hybrid images and video revealed at Paris Motor Show

Honda today revealed a concept version of its new small hybrid vehicle, named Insight, at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The new Insight Concept shares styling cues with the Honda FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle and provides an early look at the highly anticipated five-passenger hybrid vehicle.

The concept will make its U.S. debut at Los Angeles Auto Show; production version will debut at North American International Auto Show.

Audi is unveiling the A1 Sportback concept study: following on from the Audi A1 project quattro, the three-door show car presented in 2007, this is a concept for a five-door four-seater for the sub-compact class – once again exhibiting all the characteristics of a genuine Audi.

The 3.99-meter long (13.09 ft) and 1.75-meter wide (5.74 ft) vehicle combines cutting-edge, dynamic styling with optimum economy of space and supreme quality. At the same time, a series of visionary technical solutions take efficiency, dynamism and motoring pleasure into new territory as only Audi knows how.

Four door Lamborghini Estoque concept first images revealed

Following all the teasers Lamborghini has relesed, we finally have the first official images of the full car. Yes it will be called Estoque not Urus.

Even though these first images are in low resolution you should get a good view of the car.

Estoque measures 5.15 meters in length. Power will most likely come from a 560 hp V10 found in the Gallardo LP 560-4. It will feature an all-wheel-drive just like the Gallardo does.

BMW Concept X1 images make it to the web little early (video and press release added)

We have seen the BMW X1 spy photos and now here we have the first official images of the BMW Concept X1 that will be revaled today at the Paris Motor Show.

We still can’t figure out why and to whom the X1 is targeted. We understand X5, but the X3 is already hard to understand and now X1! 3-series and 1-series already look very similar. There are already people who can’t tell X3 from X5 in traffic. We are pretty sure the X1 will jeopardize X3 sales. People who have never heard of X1 will most likely think it is the facelifted X3.

Mystery four-door Lamborghini teaser #4

Citroen GT teaser video

Yesterday Citroen released the sixth teaser of the GT concept, we were sure that more will follow before Thursday. This time it’s a video showing the shape of the car from all sides, although the video is made in darkness it only ads more excitement to the previously released teasers.

Let’s hope it won’t stay as a concept that you can only drive on your Playstation 3.
