Rumors started in spring that Fiat is working on 500 Cabrio. Even company’s styling director confirmed it that they are working on an open top version. Here it is spied with a soft top.
We don’t know yet how will it look with a top down, but looking at the pictures the overall look should not change much as it is not the classical cabrio. It is just a 500 with a soft top. Perhaps Fiat has two open top variants planned for the 500?

The BMW Group and Fiat Group Automobiles (FGA) are considering the possibility of co-operation in the areas of architectures and components for their MINI and Alfa Romeo vehicles.
A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed by Friedrich Eichiner, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Corporate and Brand Development, and Alfredo Altavilla, Senior Vice President, Business Development, Fiat Group Automobiles and CEO of Fiat Powertrain Technologies.

The Fiat Topolino Concept is a reinterpretation of the Fiat 500 A Topolino classic model, produced from 1936 to 1955 in more than 500,000 units. It was designed by Paolo Martin for Ruoteclassiche Italian magazine.
As Paolo Martin explains, “in reinterpreting the Fiat Topolino, I tried to maintain the original spirit and the of the model, with similar proportions, protruding front end and fenders, a nearly-identical grille , circular headlamps, short rear overhang and spare tire covered and integrated in the rear tailgate.”

When you travel in the southern Europe you will notice Fiat 500 everywhere. It has become a huge sales hit for Fiat. The closest competitor is probably Mini who already has a convertible version.
Now Fiat has confirmed that 500 will be getting a convertible version. Company’s styling director Roberto Giolito did not confirm any dates, but most likely it will be introduced this fall during some bigger car show in Europe.

Abarth returns to track racing, and it has chosen to do so with its new ‘500 Abarth Assetto Corse’, the baby supersports car from Abarth, due to be produced in a Limited Edition (49 cars).
The new vehicle, designed by the Fiat Group Automobiles Style Centre and produced by a team of Abarth Engineers and Designers will be the star of track races from next year and its creation confirms Abarth’s racing vocation.
