9ff has been working on the GT9 for a while with a plan to make it the fastest production car in the world (how much of a production car it is is up to you to decide) Now they claim that GT9 has hit 409 km/h (253 mph). That is 2 km faster than the Veyron. Currently the world record is set by the SSC Ultimate Aero that hit 255.83 mph (411.7 km/h).
GT9 is based on the Porsch 911 GT3, but in fact it shares just a very small percentage of its components. It is lower, longer and the engine sits in the middle not at the rear.
Power comes out of 4.2 litre flat six twin turbo that produces 987 bph. The engine sits on a carbon-kevlar subframe to keep the weight of the car as los as possible.
Will 9ff settle with that top speed or make more modifications to the GT9 remains a question.
